A highly controversial film, The Pink Mirror tells the story of Shabbo and Babbo, two drag queens on the fringes of Bollywood. Call them sisters, or mother and daughter, their bonding is unique. One moment they may be clawing at each other like alley cats, but the next they will reach out to each other as only two caring human beings can. They are there for each other; except, of course, when it comes to men! Conquests are a queen's obsession and she uses every weapon in her armour to win a man - wit, humour, seduction and cunning. Using the Bollywood soap idiom of song, dance and drama and speaking in the Indian drag queens' very own language, the film is a colorful funny look into the Indian homosexual closet and alternate family structures.
